Databases on CD-ROM
Many databases are available in CD-ROM form. They can be used
with advantage to provide end-user access to databases, in that
they allow the user to work at his/her own speed without having
to worry about telecommunication connect charges or costs for
host computer time. There are some disadvantages in using
databases in CD-ROM form. The biggest drawback is that the
databases are updated less frequently than the online base. Check
if CD-ROM
databases are available in your university library.
